Work makes Udita happy
"I believe in changing my workout everyday. I never stick to the same kind of workout. I love to do kick boxing, dancing, running in the park or treadmill, aerobics, stepper and weights. I love to do different exercises because as a person I'm very restless so changing my workout everyday doesn't bore me and I can have fun too," says Udita.
Talking about her food habits, Udita says that she does not restrict herself from eating anything. "My friends tease me that I have never been on a diet or on any supplement. I don't over eat as far as I eat in right proportions, what's the harm? Well what's life without eating!" she laughs.
Udita sleeps all the time, gorges on chicken paprika pasta and loves foot massage when she wants to relax from her hectic schedules.
And what keeps this beauty happy? "If I have been sitting at home at a stretch then working makes me really happy and vice-verse. My happiness quotient keeps changing according to what I have not got for long," says Udita.
Udita Goswami reveals her stylish side
What is your style quotient?
Style is being yourself and comfortable, wearing what suits you and not a model or someone else. I hate wearing heels, it makes me uncomfortable and my back goes for a toss, so you'll rarely find me wearing heels unless it's for work. I am most comfortable in my jeans or leggings with a nice top and cool chappals so I wear that the most.
Your favourite colours
I am a very boring person. I mainly like earthy shades although I look good in bright colours. My friends keep telling me I should wear more colours.
Your must have accessories
I just love wearing my bracelets. It's something I can't do without. I also have this amazing collection of chappals. Every colour, any style. I just love them. My mother throws a fit every time I buy more and more chappals because I have so many.
Your idea of party wear
Depends on the kind of party. But if it's a formal work-related party then I take usually 45 minutes to an hour for my hair, make up and dressing up. I am always in my jeans otherwise I like to wear dresses when I go out. Dress is more girly which is so not me. So when I wear dresses I actually feel like I am going out then and even my attitude changes according to what I wear.
Your little experiments in style
I'm not really experimental but when I used to model I was once doing a fashion shoot with my then favourite and mad photographer Anand Seth and he actually made me put only baby oil on my face and eggs in my hair while wearing the most expensive designer outfits and shooting in the slums.
What has been your best fashion buy?
Oh all my expensive handbags! They last long, I have them in different sizes, so they could be used for travelling or any other purpose and occasion. Even if you wear something simple and not so branded but carry an expensive bag, your look is set.
Most extravagant fashion purchase
I keep buying stuff. Some don't even make any sense but I still buy.
Best fashion trend
The ever green, fitted light denim jeans and a feminine white shirt. In malmal or soft cotton. To add some colour, wear a funky neck accessory. You just can't go wrong.
Worst fashion trend
Hate it when guys show their under garment purposely which come higher than their jeans and think it's cool. They look like wanna-bes!
What designer item/s are on your fashion wish list?
I buy something only if I like it. But if you're buying something just to be the proud owner of a silly limited edition something, I would never blow my money. I think I have a face that can get me attention and I don't need to resort to carrying designer stuff.
If you had just 2 minutes to put together the perfect outfit - what would it be?
My blue jeans and white shirt if it's casual and a little black dress for a formal event. No thinking.

Meditation feels good: Udita Goswami
My personal de-stress mantra is...
spending time with my three beautiful female dogs, because they give me unconditional love. I also like to feed stray dogs as it gives me immense satisfaction. Earlier, I was into meditation but recently around two months back, after attending the Isha inner engineering programme I have now started meditating daily for an hour. And it definitely feels good.
In my leisure time...
I love surfing the internet and read up on various topics pertaining to general knowledge. I'm not big on social networking sites, instead I prefer chatting with my friends on my cell phone. I don't have the patience to read books, especially self-help books. I love to watch American television shows. I have just finished watching all seasons of 24. Now I'm starting with House.
I still feel I don't belong to this industry: Udita Goswami

Udita Goswami Biography
Born in Dehra Dun, India on September 2, 1984, Udita Goswami’s original name was Virgoan Udita . Her parents are from the North-Eastern State of Assam. Udita comes from a very traditional and conservative family, and studied in D.A.V. Public School until the 8th standard.
Always wanting to be part of showbiz, she was not quite happy with her life in Dehra Dun. When she proposed to leave town for Bombay, her parents initially opposed, but subsequently let her have her own way. She soon started modeling for Nokia, Star Movies, Pepsi and Titan watches.
One of India's leading models, Udita is the winner of MTV Model Mission 2 and of prestigious Model of the Universe Asia 2001 and can also been seen on covers of ELLE, Femina, Cosmopolitan, Bride n Home, Zinc, etc. She has been very active on ramp and is featured in shows by Suneet Verma, Tarun Tahilyani, Nikki Mahajan and Ranna Gill.
Her first break in Bollywood came when she bagged a role opposite to John Abhrahim in Pooja Bhatt’s Paap. The movie was not a great success at the box office, but, Udita with her fresh and stunning looks sure turned lots of eyes and was noticed both by the fans and the producers. That got her a second chance with Zeher opposite Dino Morea and Emraan Hashmi. Fortunately the movie was successful and Udita career graph shot really high. Part of the movies success could be attributed to the controversy surrounding the movie and Udita. The movie was full of explicit scenes and kisses and Udita showed too much skin.
Udita’s next appearances came in Aksar and Dil Diya Hai. Udita has already been established as a sex symbol in Bollywood. She is being very careful in signing her future movies and she is reviewing the offers she is getting quite cautiously. She is open to offers to do commercial films only if the script is good and she likes it.
